  • A 22-year-old female great horned owl (previously tangled in chicken coop wire) was released on Jan. 13 at a local park after two weeks of recovery at the Carolina Raptor Center. It now returns to its natural habitat, fully healed.  WBTV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials in North Carolina and South Carolina are offering free measles vaccine clinics as more than 430 cases have been linked to an outbreak in Upstate South Carolina + clinics will help residents get vaccinated amid rising concerns.  WCNC

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Queen's Feast will run from Friday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 1 as over 120 restaurants, including Huntersville favorites North Italia, Fin & Fino and Link & Pin, offer prix fixe menu deals.
