  • Since Dec. 1, Charlotte received just over 3 inches of rain, marking its driest winter since 2001. The North Carolina Drought Advisory Council warns that nearly 10 inches in a month is needed to ease drought conditions — water conservation remains crucial as spring approaches.  WSOCTV.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation will host four workshops in February and March to update the Meck Playbook master plan for parks and recreation. Sessions include a virtual workshop on Feb. 17 and in-person drop-ins on March 5 and March 7 — residents can share input online.  Mecklenburg County News
