  • Huntersville-based NASCAR team Joe Gibbs Racing is suing ex-employee Chris Gabehart for allegedly transferring confidential race data to a competitor; the federal suit filed Thursday seeks over $8,000,000 in damages & claims Gabehart combined work files with his personal cloud storage.  WSOCTV.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • CMS will hold budget engagement sessions through early April in Huntersville, giving families a chance to share ideas for next school year's spending. Officials say community input will help shape the final plan.  WCNC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Josh Stein ordered flags lowered to half-staff at state facilities to honor civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, who died Tuesday (Feb. 17). The flags remain lowered from sunrise Feb. 19 until sunset Feb. 28.  WCNC
  • A North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled that the NCUC improperly approved Duke Energy Carolinas’ 2024 fuel rider rate by using costs beyond one year. Customers will not get a refund under a 2025 law, the Power Bill Reduction Act.  WSOCTV.com
