  • Carowinds will launch its 2026 season on March 14 with a spring haunted attraction, summer water parade, and year-round festivals (including Viva La Fiesta and WinterFest) based on guest feedback. Park officials said the park will update details on its website as dates may change.  WSOCTV.com
  • Cookie, a 10-year-old dog who gets along well with others and is house trained, is up for adoption with her fee waived at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control, where residents are urged to help by adopting, fostering & volunteering. The shelter remains open to support many animals in need.  WCNC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Julie Kay of Live Impact News reported that a new rail expansion plan will connect Uptown and Lake Norman by extending the Red Line service. More details on the project are expected as planning continues.  WCNC
