- ➤ The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte supports people with Down syndrome and their families by connecting new parents with mentors and offering programs such as summer camps and adult retreats — its Spring Fling Inclusive Dance is tomorrow and the Abilities Employment Symposium will be held on April 9. The association also hosts its 19th Annual Golf Tournament on May 9 to fund its camps. WCNC

- ➤ The NC Department of Revenue began issuing state tax refunds on March 10 and had issued 530,000 refunds by the end of March. Taxpayers can check refund status online using their Social Security number and exact refund amount and will receive interest if a refund is delayed more than 45 days from the return due, filing or overpayment date. - ➤ North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson joined a lawsuit Tuesday against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and its secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr to stop the ending of over $230 million in health care funding for the state. His office said the cuts would force local health programs—and rural hospitals and emergency services—to tighten their services and lay off workers. Queen City News
