- ➤ The Huntersville Happy Hour Rotary Club received a matching grant of $3,000 to help support Hope House, which gives temporary shelter to women facing hardship. Volunteers used the funds—buying water tables, a porch swing, and garden supplies to improve the old cottages. Lake Norman Publications

- ➤ Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation received a ParkScore of 39.6 out of 100 from the Trust for Public Land for 2025, and the county said its low population density & limited pedestrian access contributed to the lower ranking. - ➤ The American Red Cross is urging Huntersville donors to give blood this Memorial Day weekend to help treat accident victims as travel and outdoor activities increase. Local drives at the Huntersville Blood Donation Center (9800 Kincey Avenue, Suite 110) are scheduled from May 23 through early June and will offer rewards for donations made by May 31. - ➤ Mecklenburg County Public Health earned accreditation with honors from the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Board after meeting all 147 required standards.
