- ➤ A serious vehicle crash toppled a power pole at approximately 2:11 p.m. today on Old Statesville Road at McCord Road in Huntersville — emergency crews cleared the scene and advised motorists to use alternate routes. WCNC

- ➤ City council members rejected a proposal to raise the minimum wage for city employees to $25 an hour by a 6—5 vote on Monday night. Queen City News
