➤ On April 30, Mecklenburg County recorded 2,415 homeless individuals including 444 living unsheltered—a 16% rise identified during the annual count on Jan. 22. The survey also found 1,657 people in shelters from 1,320 households, with a slight decline due to fewer available shelter beds. Cornelius Today
➤ This week, community events include the North Meck Farmers Market on Wednesday, June 11 from 9 am to noon behind Cornelius Town Hall and Ladies Night Out on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at Birkdale Village in Huntersville with an after-party from 6 to 8 pm.
