ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An 8-year-old girl died in a head-on crash and local officials said residents are mourning her loss—investigators are working to determine the cause.  WSOCTV.com

BUSINESS NEWS

  • CATS Micro, a new on-demand shared ride service launched in late February, charged $2.20 per trip within a designated zone that covers areas in Davidson, Cornelius & downtown Huntersville while sometimes dropping riders off outside the zone. The service reported a 12-minute average wait time and requires the CATS app for trip planning.  Cornelius Today

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On June 6, the Catawba Riverkeeper tested local waterways and found E. coli levels far above the safe limit of 235 MPN, with figures reaching 11,199 MPN near Cramerton, along with high numbers at other monitored sites. The foundation warned that swimming in these waters could lead to illness — residents should avoid contact until the water is confirmed safe.  WCNC
