ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Staff with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services reported that a harmful algae bloom containing toxic cyanobacteria has been found in a cove on Lake Norman — residents are advised to steer clear until officials confirm it is gone. Mecklenburg County News
- ➤ Officials issued a no swim advisory today for parts of Lake Norman near Torrence Chapel Road in Cornelius after a harmful cyanobacteria bloom was found—residents are advised to avoid swimming, boating, or other water activities until the bloom clears. WCNC
- ➤ The Cross Country Trail at Fisher Farm will close for Fall 2025 for a stream restoration project that aims to protect local waterways and native species, Davidson Parks and Recreation said. The redesigned trail is expected to reopen in Fall 2026 — officials noted that the project will help preserve the park's natural resources. Cornelius Today
