- ➤ An active harmful algae bloom was found in a cove off Torrence Chapel Road near Norman Shores Drive, and lake users were advised to avoid the area until the cyanobacteria clears. - ➤ Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is offering free box fans to seniors and adults on disability to help them stay cool this summer. Registration begins June 18 at 9 a.m.+Fans will be available for pickup starting June 25 at nine sites including Huntersville's David B.
