ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Huntersville Fire rescued a worker who had overheated on a roof at the 6900 block of Dunton Street on Monday afternoon and used a tower ladder to safely bring him down—he was then transported to a hospital for further evaluation. Officials say he is undergoing additional tests after the incident.  Queen City News

CRIME NEWS

  • A man wanted by police from three states was arrested after a multi-agency chase in Mecklenburg County + police said his arrest ended the pursuit.  Queen City News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy paused all department communications in January, including vital updates from the National Cancer Institute—raising fears that federal funding cuts may delay cancer research and clinical trials. Jenny Sage, whose daughter was among fewer than 200 fighting a rare cancer, said the change has disrupted her trusted source of information.  WCNC
  • The American Red Cross launched a summer-long blood drive in north Mecklenburg on July 7 to secure blood supplies despite severe summer weather. Appointments are available today at the Huntersville Blood Donation Center at 9800 Kincey Ave, Suite 110 + at the CVS Pharmacy on South Main Street in Davidson, and the drive will visit Cornelius on July 26th.  Cornelius Today
