➤ A new park near Huntersville Fire Station No. 4 on McIlwaine Road was named First Responders Park to honor all first responders after suggestions by Fire Chief Jim Dotoli—its design includes a splash pad, pickleball courts, playground, open lawn and themed trails. ➤ The State Highway Patrol will start a safety campaign—called Interstate-485 Alive—to make I-485 safer after a deadly crash, and officials will add more patrols to help prevent future accidents. WCNC
