  • Today, Huntersville offers a busy weekender with a kindergarten readiness event at Discovery Place Kids from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sundown Sounds featuring Gary Lowder and Smoking’ Hot at Ramsey Creek Park from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Live Under the Oaks at The Plaza from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and a Garth Brooks tribute at BoatYard Lake Norman at 8 p.m. On Saturday, a stand-up comedy fundraiser with Andy Forrester and acoustic performances at Concerts @ the Circle in Davidson are scheduled along with a Farmers Market open every Saturday until Thanksgiving — offering a range of community entertainment.  Cornelius Today

CRIME NEWS

  • Brandon Ray Perry was arrested Thursday morning at his home and charged with four felonies for crimes at Lake Norman Charter School on August 4 when a white Ford F-150 was seen on security footage arriving with a stolen cement mixer and a fire quickly damaged sports equipment (traffic cameras and anonymous calls led to his arrest).  Queen City News

  • Huntersville officials along with Cornelius, Davidson and Charlotte have agreed with MEDIC to initiate an independent study into emergency service operations due to continued discontent — an advisory committee will set the review process with recommendations expected by March 31 and changes planned for Fiscal Year 2027 while current services continue.  Lake Norman Publications
