- ➤ This week in Huntersville and nearby towns, residents can attend weekly fitness classes at Be Well Birkdale today through Oct. 22 — music bingo on Wednesday, farmers markets, trivia nights, and family events like a Bigfoot festival on Saturday and a Lucky Cat Fête on Sunday. - ➤ Residents in Enderly Park will soon receive an update on their fight against crime — after the city removed a surveillance camera that had deterred trouble. WCNC

- ➤ The Huntersville Fire Department is testing about 20 to 25 candidates for four open firefighter positions with physical and technical challenges on Monday and Tuesday. Assistant Fire Chief Shane Nantz said that rising call volumes and a growing population require more staff to keep up — the town is also planning a fifth fire station to improve coverage.
