  • Local organizers will host the 5th annual Battle of the Babes cocktail competition at Merchant & Trade on Sunday, September 28, from 4-8 p.m. Contestants will compete by mixing cocktails to win the contest.  Queen City News

  • Residents have raised safety concerns ahead of a city meeting on a transit proposal—officials say a major sales tax proposal on the ballot in November will fund future transit projects.  WCNC

  • Hundreds of pets got their rabies vaccines at a drive-thru clinic run by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control—officials said the turnout was high.  WCNC

  • CLTFC secured its ninth straight win in a shutout match as Idan Toklomati scored his second hat trick in club history — the team looks to build on this strong performance in upcoming games.  Queen City News
  • The Carolina Panthers lost 27-22 to the Arizona Cardinals after early turnovers led to a 27-3 deficit that their comeback could not fix - coach Dave Canales said the team must fix its mistakes.  WCNC
