- ➤ The N.C. High School Athletic Association released the playoff brackets for the girls' dual-team tennis tournaments on Oct. 10 with 12 lake-area teams set to compete across eight classifications. - ➤ Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle warned the Dallas Cowboys’ 32nd-ranked defense to buckle up after he rushed for a career-best 206 yards and scored in a comeback win against Miami last Sunday. - ➤ Yesterday at 7 p.m., the undefeated Hough Huskies hosted the 1 to 5 Garinger Wildcats at Hough High School — they hoped to boost their record to 7 to 0.
