CULTURE NEWS

  • Rock and roll icons Rush have announced they will perform on November 20, 2026 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte as part of their 'Fifty Something' tour—celebrating the legacy of their late drummer Neil Peart. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will perform with German drummer Anika Nilles while each show features a unique set of 35 songs.  WCNC

  • Drought stress has made fall foliage less bright in the Piedmont as trees in Charlotte drop leaves early—signs that moderate drought is affecting local trees. The mountains face only a slight drought—keeping their leaves more colorful this season.  WCNC

  • Local officials said Rosa Parks Place Transit Center will undergo a beautification project to improve its look and function. The project will begin soon to help riders have a better experience at the center.  WSOCTV.com
