- ➤ Mecklenburg County is helping SNAP-affected residents by loading a truck with donations at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today—community members are invited to contribute essential items. WCNC
- ➤ Nourish Up's Stuff the Truck food drive is underway to help local families during the longest shutdown in US history. Every donated dollar equals (four pounds) of food to support those in need. WCNC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On November 8th, 2025, a ground stop ordered by the FAA disrupted flight schedules at Charlotte Douglas International Airport — delaying many departures for hours. WCNC
- ➤ North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services received notice Friday that the USDA will fully fund November SNAP benefits and add funds to EBT cards as soon as this weekend after partial payments were loaded on over 586,000 households. The agency will work quickly to distribute the remainder and help families who received a 35% reduced benefit amid the federal shutdown — officials said today. WCNC
