- ➤ Town Hall hosts meetings this week (6 to 8 p.m.) to discuss Novant Health’s proposed facilities in Cornelius, including an emergency room at Holiday Lane (Tuesday, Dec. 16) and a care/surgery center at Westmoreland Road (Thursday, Dec. 18). Yesterday, holiday calligraphy and a litfic book club wrapped up at local venues, while today locals join dance lessons, networking and creative gatherings; upcoming events include a boat parade and a holiday market through Dec. 21. - ➤ Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools saw enrollment drop by 2,418 students in the first two months of the 2025-26 school year, marking the lowest count since 2010-11 while charter schools continue to grow across the state. WSOCTV.com

SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Lake Norman Giants won the Pop Warner national championship on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Matthews Sportsplex Stadium when the 10U team beat the Mt. Hope Cowboys 20-0.
