If you're heading to Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, there's a familiar face on the Panthers' defensive staff. The team hired DeAngelo Hall as cornerbacks coach Monday, days after parting ways with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley.

Hall steps into a banged-up room. WBTV reports Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson have been on injured reserve since Week 3, and Marco Wilson played all 69 defensive snaps against the Packers. Todd Wash is interim defensive coordinator, and head coach Dave Canales explained why he wanted Hall.

  • Hall's earlier stint: assistant defensive backs coach, 2023 and 2024

“My personal observation of D-Hall and the way that he, you know, will courageously challenge the status quo and ask for guys to play certain techniques, voice opinions, that’s something that I really value.”

Dave Canales, Panthers head coach
