About this event
Cold and wet doesn’t mean parking the bike. Join us for a practical session on staying warm, dry, and visible all season.
What we’ll cover:
• Dress for the ride: Layering basics (base, insulating, shell), what to wear on your hands, feet, head, and face, and how to avoid overheating and sweating through your layers.
• Wet-weather gear: What’s worth buying (and what’s not) in rain jackets, pants, and shoe covers.
• Carrying it all: Panniers and bags for stashing wet or bulky layers once you’re at the shop or office.
• Fenders: Why they matter more than you think.
• Lights and visibility: Staying seen during short days and dark commutes.
• Bike prep: Tires, drivetrain care, and other small adjustments for cold and wet conditions.
Bring your questions and your own winter-riding tips. We’ll share what works.
Who it’s for: Anyone from first-time winter commuters to seasoned riders looking to refine their setup.
Class facilitated by Cycling Savvy instructor, Pam Murray.
Event offered in-person and virtually.
