BUSINESS NEWS

  • Silfab and state leaders announced that the solar cell plant will remain closed until at least March 9. The weekend shutdown means local production is paused until further updates are provided.  WCNC

SPORTS NEWS

  • The King of Spring Invitational—an event raising funds for the Headstrong Foundation—brings together local lacrosse teams and top high school squads from nearby states, with games held Friday, Mar. 6 and continuing today at Cornelius Road Park and Lake Norman High.  Lake Norman Publications
  • WBTV will cover the ACC men’s basketball tournament starting Tuesday, Mar. 10 at Spectrum Center in Uptown Charlotte, with special live shows supporting the tournament and culminating in its championship on Saturday, Mar. 14 (available on TV and mobile apps).  WBTV
  • Charlotte FC will open its home season today at Bank of America Stadium with a match against Austin FC, seeking their first win of the 2026 season. Coach Dean Smith expects a fast start as fans watch live at 7:30 p.m. on Apple TV + join in person.  WBTV
