ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 9:15 a.m. Saturday, a serious crash on Hwy 73 near McGuire Nuclear Station Road killed one person and seriously injured another, closing one lane and slowing traffic in Lincoln County—officials are still investigating.  Queen City News
  • A deadly crash was reported in Huntersville earlier this morning and police are investigating the incident.  WCNC

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local events run from April 3 to today across Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville—families can enjoy plays, live music, STEAM programs and markets, with highlights such as The Addams Family: A New Musical at Hough Theatre and a free STEAMfest at Woodlawn School today.  Cornelius Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will host a three-session candidate training program for citizens interested in public office (April 26, May 3 and May 17) at the Chamber and WSIC Radio in Cornelius. The program costs $120 per person, includes meals, and applications must be received by April 18.  Lake Norman Publications
  • Huntersville finished cleaning up the former Cashion’s gas station property after removing underground storage tanks and demolishing the building earlier this year—grass now grows on the lot. The town will soon install a 12-foot multi-use pedestrian path connecting the downtown greenway to 760 Craft Works and review groundwater test results.  Lake Norman Publications
