  • Charlotte Water wants to pull 30 million gallons from the Catawba River to serve a growing city, but state lawmakers paused transfers over 15 million gallons — a vote supported by nearly all members. Upstream communities worry the move could raise drought risks — only one Mecklenburg lawmaker voted against the bill.  WSOCTV.com
  • Huntersville's Gilead Road at the I-77 interchange closed at 10 p.m. Friday for NCDOT work on a new diverging diamond interchange — the road remained closed through Sunday and is set to reopen early Monday. The $30.8 million project was delayed by rain and aims to improve safety and traffic flow in the area.  WCNC
  • Mecklenburg County held a Roll Call of Honor to recognize law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty—officials paid tribute to their sacrifice.  WCNC
