- ➤ Bill Fountain, a retired Air Force officer and former teacher from Cornelius, filed his candidacy for the District 1 seat on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Board — which covers Cornelius, Huntersville, Davidson and parts of North Charlotte—against incumbent Melissa Easley among nine candidates.
